Who is Harley Quinn?
Formerly a psychiatrist and intern at Arkham Asylum, Dr. Harleen Quinzel found herself surprisingly drawn to the charm of her patient known as the Joker. With his charismatic and flamboyant behavior, the Clown Prince of Crime seduced and manipulated the young doctor, driving her insane and transforming her into his girlfriend and criminal accomplice, Harley Quinn. Unlike the Joker, Harley possesses above-average agility and combat skills and can convincingly act sane and normal, allowing her to disguise herself effectively. Her charisma and psychiatric training also enable her to manipulate others psychologically. Created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, Harley's critical and popular success earned her a lasting presence in the Batman: The Animated Series and subsequent animations. She eventually made her way into DC Comics universe in 1999.
